Pinterest Project #3

A few weeks ago, well, more like a couple months a go, I did my 3rd Pinterest Project. Except, this one was a major one! I made a world map on a canvas.

First, you need a map. The one I got was from Barnes & Noble. Then you need:

Materials which include Modge Podge, brushes, a yard stick, an Xacto knife, and ribbon (which isn't in the picture and is optional). You also need a 3 canvases:

You need two different size canvases and the sizes will be according to the size of the map.
When choosing the canvas, you will have to decide between two different ways that you can put the map on the canvas. You can either wrap the map around the edges of the canvas (if you do this, you won't need ribbon) or you can have the map just on top.

Measure the canvas and mark the parts of the map hat you are going to remove.
Then, you cut the map according to canvas sizes using the Xacto knife. You will cut the map into 3 different pieces. Also, if the map is larger than the canvas, you can trim any extra parts off.
Next, you modge podge the canvas.
Then, you modge podge over the map and let it dry :)
When it is dry, if you want, you can glue ribbon around the edges. I glued pink ribbon on mine!

Ta da!!!
The finished product!

On my board, I have pink pins for places that I have been and. . .

blue pins for the places that I want to go!

Quote

Here is a quote that I found today that I really like! :

"Everybody can be great. Because everybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve... You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."

- Martin Luther King Jr.

Pinterest Project #2

So, a couple of weeks ago I did a my second "Pinterest Project". I just haven't gotten around to posting it until now because I have been so busy with school, activities, and such.

On Pinterest I saw a ridiculously easy breakfast. It doesn't have to be for breakfast though. You can eat it anytime of day! I made it for lunch. It takes just a couple of seconds to make. All you need is a pan, eggs, and a bell pepper or two (depending on how many you want to make). Each bell pepper made on average about 4 when I did it. You simply slice the bell pepper into circle slices and put them in a frying pan. Then, pour an egg in. Whala! You have a colorful and healthy breakfast!

*Warning: The egg will probably spill over and under the edges of the bell pepper while cooking so you want to make slices as flat and even as possible!

Here is a picture: (It might not look very pretty in my picture but it is very yummy!)

Camping Trip

A couple weeks ago, during track-out, my family and I went camping! Here are some pictures of some of the fun things that we did:

This is the house that the show the Waltons was filmed at! I haven't watched much of this show but it was still fun to see.

A beautiful view of the mountains!! It is amazing to see so much of God's beautiful creation all at once!

One day we visited the Monticello which was the home of our 3rd president, Thomas Jefferson. It was neat how he built his house and fun little details that he put in. . . accidentally or on purpose. One fun thing was that he had a clock that not only showed the time, but also the days of the week. The problem was though, that it didn't fit in the house so he had to cut holes in the floor for it.

These two pictures were taken at an apple orchard high up in a mountain. We got to pick apples and they were HUGE and DELICIOUS and THE BEST apples that I have EVER had!

Pinterest Project #1

So a couple posts ago I said that I was going to try a bunch of different things that I found on Pinterest this track-out. . . Well, it is now 4 days until the start of school. Time has flown by so fast! I have had a productive, busy, and very fun break but I didn't realize until a couple days ago that I really need to get going on my "project".

The one thing that I did try was making pictures into different shapes. You do this by cutting out a circle the size of your camera lens with a sheet of paper. . . any paper. Then you cut out a shape in the middle. It can be WHATEVER shape you desire! :) I chose a heart because that is what it showed in the picture on Pinterest. Then you tape the paper to the camera. This is what I came out with:

*Tip: If you ever try this, make sure to keep the flash on*

I'm going to extend my "Pinterest Project" so whenever I try something in the future, I will post about it! :)

On her Toes

One of my friends just re-started her blog. It is going to be a about dancing! It is: http://audra-c.blogspot.com. You guys should check it out!

Track-Out

I know it that it seems that I post about this topic a lot . . .

We are tracked out!! We made it through the first part of our school year. For me, the first part of my first year of high school! I can't believe it! It has been great though, a lot of work but in the end it will be worth every minute of it!

Now that we are tracked out I decided I'm going to do my Pinterest project! I'm going to make different recipes, try crafts, and different random things that I find on Pinterest. I will also post about them when I do them. How fun!!! I can't wait to get started! :)

Devotion: God-Pleasers

Here is one of my devotions that I recently read and really spoke to me. It is very hard but EXTREMELY important:

"God wants us to please Him first. It's not our job to make everyone happy.

There will be a lot of times when God's Word goes against what all of your friends are doing. Sometimes grown-ups and other people you trust might be going against God's Word too. How will you know? Ask God to help you know right from wrong and keep His Word in your heart. If you study God's Word everyday, you will know when other people are going against what the Bible says.

If all your friends decide to cheat on a test at school, they won't be very happy if you tell them that it's wrong and you aren't going to do it. But that's okay! It's not your job to make everyone happy. It's much more important to make God happy than all of your friends. All you have to do is trust in God and do what's right. That's all that matters in the end!"

"Obviously, I am not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant."
Galatians 1:10

Big Creek Missions

The week of July 8th, I went on a mission to trip to Kentucky with my church to Big Creek Missions. We stayed at Big Creek and every day Monday through Friday we went to our ministry site. There were three different choices when it comes to your ministry: construction, community, and children. Then there are different sites for each ministry. I was assigned to children.....right up my alley. :)
Every day I had the opportunity to serve at a day camp in the backyard of somebody's home in the mountains in Kentucky. It was such an eye opening absolutely amazing experience. We got to play, encourage, and share the gospel with these kids (ages 6-14) every day. We played games, did crafts, sang songs, and just talked with the kids all day every day. It is a totally different culture there in all aspects. Here are some (well, more than some...) pictures:

 Bible Story time!

This was the most popular craft! Even the boys loved it!
 Back at Big Creek :)

You can't see it that well but we did face painting that day so the sweet girl in the picture and I our have our faces painted as blue and yellow dogs :)

The last few pictures were taken one evening when all of the kids from the day camp came to Big Creek for dinner and fun!
Here is one of the many dogs that roamed around the area that we had our day camp.

 in the rain...

The last day, Friday, we had the day camp at Big Creek instead of where we normally have it. In the afternoon we had a Carnival with games, face painting, crafts, more games, and one of the adults even dressed up as a clown with stilts and everything! All of the kids even the volunteers LOVED every bit of it!
I was so blessed to go on this trip and meet so many of these sweet kids! It was a wonderful experience! Please pray for them and their families. They need the Lord and His love in their lives!
